How Can A Host Organization Help?
Host organizations can help in a number of ways including:
- Identifying, to CHC or the Arc representative, people with developmental disabilities in the area that could benefit from going through the training.
- Helping to advertise the training and recruit people that could benefit from the training.
- Providing a space for the training or helping CHC or the Arc representative to identify a suitable space in the area.
- Helping to collect information on the people that sign up to attend the training. This information includes basic information such as their names as well as information about any barriers to the person attending the training (e.g. they need an attendant while at the training or they need help getting to the training).
- Assisting to set up the training space or providing refreshments at training are additional ways a Host Organization could help.
- Finally the Host Organization could help by identify/providing personnel who could provide the attendant care or transportation that attendees need to make the training a real success.
